Approaching stability?

It’s been nearly a week since I’ve started a higher dose of Saphris, and I am finally feeling the benefits. I’ve been “stable” since Saturday… no major ups or downs. I’m cautiously relieved.

I met with my doctors today, and the results are that I’ll be taking a slightly lower dose of quetiapine, in the hopes that I will feel less flat and be more able to lose weight.

I also learned some interesting things about psychosis from my therapist, such as that sensory overload can be a kind of psychotic experience. She is running a huge study on psychotic disorders (bipolar w/ psychotic features, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia) and I’m going to take part in it in a few weeks. Afterwards she’s going to share the diagnostic results with me. I’m so curious and so nervous at the same time! I’ll be sure to keep you all updated. I’ve never had extensive psych testing done before, and as an added bonus, I get paid for it. 😉
