I am mildly hypomanic.
Here are the main symptoms I’m experiencing:
- Distractibility and difficulty concentrating
- Sensations of euphoria and hyper-connectivity
- Difficulty sleeping more than about 5 hours
Hypomania in itself isn’t really an issue, and it’s not unusual for me to have short periods of it (one day, two days, a week maybe). The problem is that I usually crash into depression directly following a hypomanic episode.
My goal is to get more sleep tonight. If I can get enough sleep, the hypomania will dissipate on its own. Or so I hope. My doctor might also ask me to increase one of my anti-psychotics temporarily, but I don’t see him until Monday.
